Crazy Mario World

Crazy Mario World

In Crazy Mario World, after Mario and Luigi saved the Mushroom Kingdom in Super Mario 3, they decided to take a vacation in a magical place called Dinosaur Land. However, while they were relaxing on the beach, Princess Toadstool went missing, seemingly captured by evil forces. Mario and Luigi searched for their friend and stumbled upon a giant egg in the forest.

To their surprise, the egg hatched, revealing a young dinosaur named Yoshi. Yoshi explained that his dinosaur friends were trapped in similar eggs by a group of monstrous turtles led by Bowser. With determination, Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi set off across Dinosaur Land to rescue the Princess and free Yoshi's friends.

As they began their journey, Yoshi gave Mario a special cape with magical powers. With luck and the help of the cape, our brave team can overcome the challenges in the seven worlds of Bowser's Krazy Koopa Kritters. Some treasures are hidden in secret locations, so explore everywhere and try everything. While not all areas need to be explored to rescue the dinosaurs and save Princess Toadstool, there are many valuable treasures to be found in distant places. Search every corner to discover what kind of treasures await you.

Characters

The main characters in the game are Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Bowser, the 7 Koopa Kids, and Yoshi. Mario and Luigi have similar abilities, but Luigi is more floaty in the Game Boy Advance remake. Princess Peach is the damsel in distress, and Yoshi plays a significant role in the game. Toad does not appear in this game.

How to play

Crazy Mario World is a 2D platformer where the goal is to reach the Giant Gate and advance to the next level before the timer runs out. Mario (or Luigi) can jump over platforms and obstacles, stomp on enemies to defeat them, and even spin-jump to destroy certain blocks and enemies. Mario can also pick up and carry items by pressing buttons and can earn extra lives by collecting star points.

Throughout the game, Mario can obtain power-ups by hitting blocks, such as the Super Mushroom that makes him bigger and stronger, the Fire Flower that allows him to shoot fireballs, and the new Cape Feather that grants him special abilities. Additionally, Mario can ride Yoshi, who has unique traits and abilities to assist Mario on his journey.

If Mario gets hit by an enemy or damaging obstacle in his normal form, he loses a life. If he gets damaged while powered up, he reverts to his normal form. If Mario loses all his lives, it's game over, but players can continue from their last save with five more lives. Some obstacles instantly defeat Mario, like falling into pits or lava.

The game features a world map system, similar to Super Mario Bros. 3, where all the worlds and levels are connected, offering multiple paths and creating a less linear experience. Mario must defeat castle bosses, usually Bowser's children, to progress. Once defeated, the castles are destroyed and cannot be replayed.
